  • Maulana Azad Medical College: - This institute currently ranked 3rd in the country by India today & Times of India is spread over a campus in 122 acres. Attached to the college are 4 other institutes – Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Maluna Azad Institute of Dental sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Center. It is one of the best place for learning with 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres running daily. It caters to 290 undergraduate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors.
  • University College Of Medical Science:- Established in 1971 as a constituent college of University of Delhi. Annual admission M.B.B.S:- 150, M.D./M.S.:- 71, besides PhD courses in Medical Faculty it also runs paramedical courses. Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital is the associated teaching hospital. Known for its quality research : National ranking 7th based on the number of publications in the PubMed indexed journals.
  • King George Medical University Lucknow:- In 1870 the Maharaja of Vijanagaram first floated the idea of starting a Medical College in Lucknow. But the idea was watered down due to paucity of funds. In 1905 the visit of King-Emperor, George V, then Prince of Wales, inspired the idea of establishing a college to commemorate the occasion. The originator of this fine ideal to commemorate the occasion was late Raja Sir Tassadnq Rasul Khan of Jehangirabad to whom Sir Harcourt Butler wrote on 1st December 1905. "It must ever be a source of pride to you to think that the first suggestion of such a movement came from you absolutely spontaneously."
    On 22nd March 1906, the Secretary to Govt. U.P. wrote to the Registrar, Allahabad University "It is the desire of subscribers to the Foundation of King George's Medical College that this College should be the best in the East and it will be aim of Government that the College shall give to its students the best education possible."
  • Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research ( JIPMER):- can trace its origins to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823. In 1956 foundation for new medical college was laid and in 1964, hospital was inaugurated. JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres. The institution houses one administrative block, one academic centre, one nursing college, seven hospital blocks, seven accessory services buildings and four residential complexes. 12 broad types of medical, nursing and allied health science courses covering all disciplines in healthcare from basic to super specialty training are conducted.
  • INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY:- Medical education in Varanasi, the oldest living city of the world, dates from the days of Sushruta 500 BC. Infact this is also the history of Medical education in India. The great treatise - 'Sushruta Samhita' is a living testimony of contributions to Medical education that originated in Varanasi, Sushruta was the first to perform cadaver dissections and described a number of operating instruments and surgical operations. Perhaps it is a continuation of this historical perspective that Medical education in Banaras Hindu University took roots in 1920 with the establishment of Department of Ayurveda under Faculty of Oriental Learning and Theology (1922-1927).Under the influence of  Pandit  Madan Mohan Malviyaji, Seth Mathuradas Vissanji Khimji of Bombay donated a large some of Rs.1.5 Lacs for the Ayurvedic College. This was further augmented by donations from Shri Daya Shankar Dev Shankar Dave of Kathiawar and Bombay. Years later, in 1960 the Ayurvedic College was converted to the College of Medical Sciences with Professor K.N. Uduppa as its founder principal. The College of Medical Sciences then had 10 Departments - 9 in Modern Medicine and 1 in Indian Medicine. In 1963, MBBS training was recognized both by General Medical Council, U.K. and Medical Council of India. The Post Graduate Institute of Indian Medicine (since 1963) was merged with Institute of Medical Sciences established in 1971.
  • GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE CHANDIGARH:- Chandigarh the ‘City Beautiful’ has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. However city lacked a Medical College for graduate i.e. MBBS and postgraduate studies for the students belonging to Chandigarh. Chandigarh Administration decided to establish a Medical College in Chandigarh to remove this deficiency. For this purpose the Department of Medical Education & Research was created. In pursuance of the No Objection Certificate issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Vide their U.O. No. 12013/31-90ME(P) dated 15-01-91 Government Medical College was started in 1991 with following broad objectives:

    To fulfill the glaring deficiency of an undergraduate Medical College in the Union Territory of Chandigarh which offers the best educational facilities in all other fields, The Government Medical College will be attached to a teaching hospital.

    To act as a center for Continuing Medical Education Programmes for various. categories of technical and non-technical personnel of different disciplines working within and from other institutions/hospitals.

    To render facilities for conducting research activities relating to different specialties, as and when required.

  • Lady Harding Medical College:- is one of India’s oldest and established medical college, is undergoing a major infrastructural change under Comprehensive Redevelopment Project to meet the modern day health needs of the patients and educational needs of the students studying here. This Medical and Nursing College was the first Medical College to be built in Delhi soon after it became the capital on being shifted from Calcutta in 1912. The foundation stone of the college was laid on 17th March 1914 and the college started in 1916. During these many years the college has produced thousands of medical graduates, postgraduates and nursing graduates and trained doctors who have contributed immensely in the field of medicine in the country and abroad.

    The college has always maintained very high standards of education and therefore it is in the fitness of things that we work to provide the much-awaited highest level of infrastructure and facilities to the faculty, students, doctors, nurses and all types of health care personnel working in the College and its associated Smt Sucheta Kriplani and Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital. We are in the middle of Phase One of the redevelopment activity and hope to achieve the new redevelopment targets in time or even before. At the completion of all phases of redevelopment in near future, we hope to have a completely modern campus.

    We also plan to increase the intake of postgraduate students and also introduce new post-doctoral courses as we add new infrastructure and employ more faculty.

  • Armed Forces Medical College:- Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defense services.

    The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 by the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by the amalgamation of various defense medical organizations. The "Graduate Wing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainable and steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces. The institute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the MCI for conducting undergraduate and various post graduate medical courses.
  • INDIRA GANDHI MEDICAL COLLEGE SHIMLA:- Himachal Pradesh Medical College at Shimla (HPMC) was established in the year 1966 with admissions of 50 students in the first batch. Indira Gandhi Medical College is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. With the establishment of Medical College in the State, the hopes and aspirations of the people of the state were met with the standards of health services going on and students benefiting with the advantage of staying home and getting better educational avenues. Medical College then had a modest beginning with makeshift arrangements for hostels etc., but ecstasy of joining the Medical College located in Shimla with its salubrious climate, took away the agony., Himachal Pradesh Medical College was renamed Indira Gandhi Medical College (now popularly known as IGMC in abbreviated form) in 1984. Admission facility was increased to 65 in the year 1978. Now MBBS seats have been increased 65 to 100. 2794 number of MBBS students have passed out from this Medical College till 2014. The post Graduate courses were started in 16 disciplines in the year 1981.Now these are increased 16 to 20 disciplines. So far 923 postgraduates and 377 in diploma students have passed out from IGMC till date.
